Big brother, big brother
Born from the sister of my mother
Know that we will have no other
Big brother, big brother
I pray for you, I pray for me
I pray for the whole family
Your passing’s something I can’t believe
This world is just insanity
Big brother, big brother
Born from the sister of my mother
Know that we will have no other
Big brother, big brother
The storms and rains of pain still fall
I try to recollect them all
The times of hurt and times of joy
The times when we were all young boys
When you would make fun of me
for being nerdy
And the others would join in
And I would get mad
And you all would just laugh
Yet we always had good times
Life is so short, and we dream forever
Now we shoulder your burdens and dream together
Now my tears fall as if someone tripped a lever
And they contribute to the stormy weather
That’s one, two; two brothers lost
We continue living for you all, but at what cost?
My tears keep falling, gelatin soft
I wish I were stronger, it’s….
It’s difficult, it’s hard
When the words are in your heart
But can’t reach your hands or your head
And the weight in your chest grows ever heavier
I know you didn’t claim to read my poems
But I secretly think you did
And just wouldn’t admit it
No matter what, you’ll always be
And always have been
My – and our –
Big Brother
Rest In Peace
We love you
God rest your soul
And we will live on
To grow old
While the Lord takes you home

RIP Lord Omar Cooper
