Going on my daily run
I feel the brisk breeze upon my skin
Inhaling, exhaling, as I move towards the local park
Taking in the cherry blossoms as I orogress
I feel my heart racing, my breathing growing more vigorous
Even though I’m only running one mile
I’m very much out of practice
But, in this week alone I’ve seen progress
Moving from nearly 15 minutes til just shy of 11
I take solace in this, knowing that I will be better than when I began
And be healthier in the future
I hate running, but I love myself enough to do it
Maybe that’s all that matters
