‘Twas the night before Christmas
And the people were gathered
All the presents were wrapped
And the turkey was lathered
The egg nog was warmed
And the cider was sweet
As the children indulged
In pre-Christmas treats

‘Twas the night before Christmas
And Christians were gathered
To celebrate Jesus
The one gift that mattered
The chapels are filled
With holiday noise
As together they sing
Every carol with joy

‘Twas the night before Christmas
And candles were gathered
To light a dark world
So often thought shattered
But we shan’t be weary
Tonight is for praise
For Christ is the light
That guides all our days

‘Twas the night before Christmas
And the family was gathered
Embracing in love
And engaging in chatter
As the children awaited
The time for their gifts
They played through the night
In pure holiday bliss

Merry Christmas!
